We create original musicals for creative kids.
The text and music for each musical is designed to be modified to fit the particular needs of actors 6-16 and their directors. There is nothing else like it as children become partners in working with themes of social justice and equity to creatively bring each story to life.
Mission Statement
Friendly Dog Original Musicals has two missions. First, we aim to provide access to new original musicals with DEI and SEL relevance to any program that serves children ages 8-16.
Secondly, by partnering with organizations that have a similar mission, Friendly Dog Original Musicals hopes to support the generation new plays with DEI and SEL relevance through retreats, workshops, and small grants.

- Musicals created to engage students for ages 8-18
- The length of each Musical can be modified by each director but they average between 40 -90 minutes.
- Director can modify cast number as well but most plays require between 8-32 young actors.
- Most play while often humorous have an equity /social justice theme and celebrate female protagonists.
- Directors have discretion to modify individual lines to fit circumstances.
- Changes must be acknowledged in the public statements
- For example “This version of Hamletta has modified from the original musical created by Faith Soloway and Tom Evans by the Welfleet School Drama Dept”
